Yagon – Bagan – Popa – Mandalay – Mingun – Amarapura – Sagiang – Pyin Oo Lwin – Pindaya – Inde – Indein – Bago – Golden Rock – Yangon (13 Days – 12 Nights)

We land to Yangon, formerly Rangoon, the capital of Myanmar. Landing at Sabra, reaching an initial familiarization tour we will have with the city. Yangon is home to approximately 4 million people. Although a lot of person has no street buzz and traffic jams that characterize other Asian cities. Towards evening we will watch the sunset river. Dinner at local restaurant Accommodation at hotel in Yangon.

Breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast at hotel, fly to Bagan by domestic flight. Upon arrival, start sightseeing with Nyaung U Market, Shwezigone Pagoda- built in 1087 and also the prototype of later Myanmar Stupa, then Htilominlo Temple is known for its elaborate plaster moldings dated 1211AD. Next to Dhamayangyi Temple, Bagan’s most massive temple built in 116AD.  Proceeds to visit Ananda temple, an architectural crowning achievement built in 1090. 

Lunch will be served at local restaurant. Then, visit Thatbyinnyu Temple is the tallest temple in Bagan and continue to visit a local family workshop of lacquer ware, one of Myanmar’s best-known handicrafts. . Finally, enjoy breathtaking sunset from best place to watch sunset on that day.

Dinner will be served with cultural show.

After breakfast, drive to Mt Popa is 50km away from Bagan recognizing as an abode of many “Nats”(spirits of ancient ancestors), and referred as the “Mountain of Spirits“. The Mount Popa area has also been designated as a National Park, a perfect place for eco-tourism.

Lunch at local restaurant. Afterwards, visit Sulamani Temple –a red brick temple features delicate masonry work. Then also visit Gubyaukgyi Temple noted for its’ mural paintings. Finally, visit Manuha Temple built by the captive King Manuha. Dinner at local restaurant.

Enjoy breakfast at hotel. Fly to Mandalay. Upon arrival, visit Amarapura– once a royal city, enjoy the great serenity of U Bein wooden Bridge constructed in 1849 and photostop at Mahaganthayon monastery the largest teaching monastery in Myanmar. And then, visit Mahar Myat Muni Buddha Image, the second most sacred image in Myanmar next to the Shwedagon Pagoda. Then, visit and study at gold leaf making and stone carving workshops.

Lunch at local restaurant. Proceeds to visit Royal Palace Compound with beautiful moat and walls, then visit Shwe Nan Daw Monastery, which is very famous for its intricate woodcarvings. Proceeds to Kuthodaw Pagoda complex, the largest book in the world as one of the world heritage by the UNSECO. Finish the tour by visiting Mandalay Hill to enjoy and watch the panoramic view of Mandalay City and sunset. Dinner at local restaurant. Accommodation at hotel in Mandalay.

Breakfast at Hotel. This morning, take a short trip to Pyin Oo Lwin by car. It was the former British hill station and 80km far away from Mandalay. It is pleasantly cool there and is known for its waterfalls, gardens and colonial buildings. Arrive at Pyin Oo Lwin ( this hill resort remains a tranquil oasis of cool weather and amazing wild flowers ) and sightseeing tour to National Kandawgyi Garden  is beautifully landscaped and includes an area of virgin forest.

Lunch at local restaurant. After that visit China Temple, Water Fall, Mahar Ean Htoo kan Thar Pagoda, Pate Chin Myaung Cave. And also visit some strawberry farms. Drive back to Mandalay.

After breakfast at hotel, take boat trip to Mingun, the rural village area which is home to the world’s largest uncracked ringing bell, the largest brick base Pathodawgyi Pagoda and Myatheindan Pagoda with a distinctive architectural style modeled after the mythical Mount Meru. After exploring the sights in Mingun, we will drive back to Sagaing Hill where you can enjoy the panoramic view at the top of the Hill cover with numerous pagodas and monasteries.  

Lunch at local restaurant. Then, visit Inwa (also known as AVA), a former royal capital of Myanmar Kingdom located on the confluence of the Ayeyarwaddy River and Myitnge River. Visit the Maha Aungmyabonsan Monastery, and the Nanmyint Tower, known as the “leaning tower of AVA”, before heading to Bargayar monastery. Dinner at local restaurant. Accommodation at hotel in Mandalay.

Enjoy breakfast at hotel. Then, fly to Heho. Upon arrival, drive to Pindaya. It is one of the most beautiful and peaceful place of the Shan State. Sightseeing to Pindaya Cave is a huge cavern where hundreds and thousands of Buddha images in various size and shape are installed since the 11^th century. (more than 8000Buddha image carved in wood, stone, marble and bronze). The numerous stalactites and stalagmites in these limestone caves, from fanciful shapes and have given rise to such names as the “fairy Princess Loom”, “Posts for tying horses and elephants” and so on. And visit traditional umbrella making and paper making home cottages industries.

Lunch at local restaurant. Then, drive to Kalaw which it was popular hill station in the British days and still a peaceful and quiet place. At an altitude of 1320m it is also pleasantly cool and a good place for hiking amid gnarled pinces, bamboo groves and rugged mountain scene.

Dinner at local restaurant. Overnight at hotel in Kalaw.

Enjoy breakfast at hotel. Visit pine forests, tea plantations and colorfully clad hill tribes make it to a natural magnet for tourists and local colorful market. Then, drive to Nyaung Shwe – the gate of Inle lake. Enjoy boat trip on Inle Lake – a photographer’s dream, its calm waters are dotted with floating vegetation and fishing canoes, to which scenic high hills provide the perfect backdrop. See the lake’s unique “leg rowers” – the Intha people row standing up with one leg wrapped around an oar. Lunch at Restaurant, located in the middle of lake.

Lunch at local restaurant. Then, visit Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda, the holiest religious site in southern Shan State. See traditional handicrafts – silk weaving on wooden handlooms and a blacksmith shop. Pass endless floating gardens, where fruit and vegetables are grown. Continue by boat to visit NgaPheKyaung Monastery, one of the oldest monasteries on the lake. One can see ancient Buddha statues which are more than 200 years old. Dinner and accommodation at hotel on Inle Lake.

After breakfast , sightseeing by boat to ShweIndein Pagoda complex , one of the small villages of Inle Lake which has the pagoda and hundreds of stupa built in the 8th century and rows of shops are famous; and can see the unique rowing style of fishermen at Inle.  

Lunch at local restaurant. Then, study the ways of silk weaving. Finally, fly back to Yangon. 

Dinner at local restaurant and accommodation at hotel on Yangon.

After breakfast, travel to Bago, is far 80km from Yangon and also an ancient capital of 16^th century Mon Kingdom and photo stop at HtaukKyant war memorial cemetery compound in which allied forces fallen soldiers in the Myanmar campaign were honorably kept. And in Bago firstly visit the Kyaik Pun Pagoda which has the interesting history and back to back position. And then before lunch visit the Kyat Kha Wine monastery that has about 700 monks living and learning the Buddha teachings. 

Lunch at local restaurant. And continued visit Shwe Maw Daw pagoda, the tallest pagoda in Myanmar; and the imposing Kanbawzathari Palace of King Bayintnaung (1551-1581 AD). Check in Hotel. Dinner at local restaurant and overnight at hotel.

After breakfast, continued travel to Golden Rock. Firstly arrive to the base camp (120 KM -4 hours) of the mountain, change to the open roof truck and the upper area must be traveled by foot to the Golden Rock. And then visit the Golden Rock at the mountain top and see the ranges of the mountain from the Golden Rock and can feel   the panoramic view. And then go back to Yangon.  

On the way, lunch at local restaurant and visit the Shwethalaung Pagoda, the most lifelike Reclining Buddha Image in Myanmar and can do shopping along the stairways. Dinner at local restaurant and overnight at hotel in Yangon.

After breakfast at hotel, visit Chaukhtatgyi Pagoda, the most dominate reclining Buddha image in Yangon. Then, leads to downtown area like Sule Pagoda, City Hall, High Court, Mahabandoola park with the great memorable independence monument and some other colonial historical buildings.

Lunch at local restaurant. After that, to visit Bogyoke Market is a delight to explore which offer to buy many things like gems, goods, Myanmar traditional dress, souvenir and galleries, etc. Take a short rest at hotel. In the evening, visit China Town, which is very crowded with many shops and vandals at night. Then, leads to Shwedagon Pagoda, the most famous tourist attraction in Yangon. Dinner at local restaurant and overnight at hotel in Yangon.

Enjoy breakfast at hotel. Then, visit Kandawgyi Park which is the best recreation place with the beautiful landscape in Yangon and photo stop at Karaweik. Continued shopping at some famous gems and souvenir shops and also at Myanmar Plaza. Lunch at local restaurant. After lunch visit the Kyauktawgyi Pagoda which is the largest marble Buddha image in Myanmar, is situated near airport and see the white elephants on Mindama hill near this pagoda and transfer to airport for departure.
